Sleep Is Vital To Muscle Recovery

“Research shows that sleep is a vital component to muscle recovery related to injury, illness or surgery. Normal sleep is defined by at least 8 hours of sleep a night. You are considered sleep deprived if you get less than 4 hours of sleep. Studies have concluded that sleep deprivation can have negative effects on your muscles, especially if you are in the middle of recovery. Non-REM sleep, or deep sleep, is essential in tissue rejuvenation, healing and growth.”
