What is a Sports Assessment?
Atlantic Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine would like to offer concise assistance to our youth, teen, and college players when preparing for their athletic seasons. The Sports Assessments will allow our clinically trained physical therapists to evaluate, educate, & provide individualized, exercise protocols for your athlete. Through the evaluation, our PT’s will identify and address muscular imbalances, abnormal kinesthetic movement, and other identifiable deficiencies.
What does the Sports Assessment measure?
Atlantic physical therapists will examine the athletes’ physical and mental conditioning on a sport-specific basis. The assessments will address strength, flexibility, power, stamina, posture, speed, balance, and agility. Concussion testing will be performed and tracked by our trained PTs to address exposure of pathology. The program will focus on maximizing performance through adaptations of training and practice.
Who can participate in the Sports Assessment?
Any athlete dedicated to improving his/her performance on the field or court. Atlantic Physical Therapy desires to locate individuals passionate about their athletic endeavors and provide education on healthy, movement patterns. Athletes recovering from injury, fearful of injury, or motivated to improve their competitiveness should seek a professionalized, Sports Assessment.
When should the Sports Assessment be scheduled?

The Sports Assessment program was developed to identify the most common, sport-specific injuries in youth competition. By identifying sport-specific risk factors, the Atlantic physical therapists are able to play a crucial role in preventing, reducing, and treating athletic injuries.
