Adam Jones, PT, DPT
Adam Jones is originally from Tamaqua, a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Physical Education with a minor in Health from West Chester University. He attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and graduated in 2015 with his Doctor of Physical Therapy. He has developed a special interest in orthopedics and fitness. Adam has experience working with a wide range of populations, from active duty military to retirees. He enjoys living in Southern Delaware where he has been helping patients optimize movement, decrease pain, and return to their favorite activities. Adam uses his certifications in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Y Balance Test (YBT), and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) along with his academic training and experience to provide patients with the highest level of care from initial evaluation to discharge planning. He is passionate about his work and dedicated to furthering his education to provide an individualized care plan.
Bobby Hammond, PT, DPT
To rehabilitate the patient Bobby believes the professional must treat with compassion, sincerity and be knowledgeable in his field. Bobby Hammond was raised here on the Eastern Shore, grew up within the Worcester County Public School System, graduated with a bachelors in exercise science from the Salisbury University in 2010, and went on to obtain his Doctorate in Physical therapy in 2013 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. As someone who has received much from the Eastern Shore, he is eager to give back to the place that helped raise him. He recently fulfilled his last clinical rotation at University of Maryland, recently known as Kernan Hospital in the out-patient orthopedic and spinal cord unit. He has a focus on neurology and out-patient orthopedics.
Charles Curran, PT
Charles is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. He was Director of Rehabilitation at Bel Air Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (Hanford County, MD) and Mercy Hospital’s Transitional Care Unit (Baltimore). He has practiced in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, and home care.
Gwyn Benny, PT, MHSc.
Gwyn Benny is a master physical therapy clinician. She has been working in the field of orthopedics for 28 years and a certified manual therapist since 1992. Specializing in orthopedic physical therapy, Gwyn obtained her Advanced Master’s degree from the University of St Augustine in 2005. During this training she conducted research on the effects of posture on physical performance. Gwyn obtained her entry degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1984.
Gwyn has extensive knowledge in the treatment of all extremity and spinal disorders. Through attending national seminars and researching evidence based practices she has developed post operative physical therapy protocols for the low back and cervical spine. Gwyn also has a special interest in treatment of shoulder pathologies including rotator cuff dysfunction, frozen shoulder and instabilities.
Gwyn has also served as a clinical instructor for over 26 years helping to provide hands on experiences and skill development for physical therapy students. Gwyn strongly believes in the lifelong learning process.
Heather Little, PTA
Heather Little graduated with an Associates in Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Delaware Technical and Community College. Heather has clinical experience in neurological rehab., pediatrics, aquatic therapy, orthopedics, and sports rehab. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Maryland Chapter of APTA, and the sports section of the APTA. Heather’s areas of interests are neurology, orthopedic and sports rehab.
JoAnn Warren, PTA
JoAnn graduated from Alvernia University , located in Reading PA with an Associate of Science Degree in 1992. She has practiced in inpatient, aquatic therapy, orthopedic and amputee rehab with primary focus on out-patient orthopedics.
Kyle Daugherty, PT, DPT
Kyle is a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s, class of 2017, Doctor of Physical Therapy program. In 2012, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. Kyle Daugherty was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He has a special interest in manual orthopedics, gait/balance, & neurological dysfunctions. Kyle believes the therapeutic process should focus on an individualized approach using the most current evidence-based research to introduce clients to the most effective tools in an effort to achieve their desired outcomes.
Levi Custis, PT, DPT
Levi graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. He received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University. Before completing college Levi was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served overseas. Levi has clinical experience in outpatient rehabilitation as well as acute care. His favorite part of physical therapy is helping patients return to an active lifestyle and alleviating their pain. He is a native of the Eastern Shore and is excited to give back to his community.
Lindsay Duryea, DPT
Lindsay is a 2013 graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University. Lindsay has been a resident of the Eastern Shore of Maryland for over 15 years. She loves the laid back culture and close-knit community of the people here. Lindsay’s area of specific interest and focus are manual orthopedic rehabilitation, gait and balance deficits and sports injuries. She is committed to a one-on-one approach with her patients, individualizing plan of cares in order to help patients safely resume their previous function and improve quality of life.
Matthew Savini, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS
Matthew has always had a passion for serving others. Born and raised in southern Delaware, Matthew enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. He deployed overseas twice before going back to school full time, graduating from Liberty University with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology in 2009. Matthew then had the honor of being accepted into the highly ranked U.S Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy where he was commissioned as an Army Officer and graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012.
Over the next four years of active duty service Matthew gained valuable experience working primarily in an outpatient orthopedic setting at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and then as a Brigade Physical Therapist with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. Board certified in orthopedics, Matthew also specializes in manual therapy and sports rehab. Matthew is excited to return home and give back to the local community where he was raised. He continues to serve as a Captain in the Army Reserves.
Sally Hawkins, OTR/L, CLT, CHT
Specialty: UE Orthopedics, Hand Therapy/ Splinting. Women’s Health: Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, Lymphedema and Osteoporosis.
Sally Hawkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Towson State University in 1986. Sally has been practicing Occupational Therapy for over 20 years – 10 years of which she treated in the Baltimore area followed by the remaining years of practice in the Salisbury/ Ocean City area. Sally specializes in upper extremity orthopedic conditions, hand therapy/ custom splinting, breast cancer recovery, Lymphedema (upper and lower) and osteoporosis (home exercise program).
The Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc., the only organization granting hand therapy certification in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa is proud to announce that Sally Hawkins has met all requirements set forth by the commission. These requirements include at least five years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, a minimum of 4,000 hours in direct practice in hand therapy, and successful completion of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper limb rehabilitation. There are approximately only 6,291 individuals worldwide that hold this marked designation.
Sarah Geremia, PT, DPT
Sarah Geremia is an Eastern Shore local who is dedicated to finding the highest functional potential for her patients through physical therapy. In 2010, she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County after just two years. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. As a new grad, Sarah understands that medical education is an ongoing process, and hopes to continue her education with a specialty certification in orthopedics.
Shannon Rock, OTR/L, CLT, CHT
Shannon graduated from Towson University with a BS degree in Health Science and a MS Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has over 23 years experience as an occupational therapist and has worked in a wide variety of settings. Shannon became a certified hand therapist (CHT) in 2004 and a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) in 2018. She has extensive experience treating patients with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological disorders affecting the shoulder, elbow,wrist, and hand.
Stephanie McAllister, PT, DPT, OCS
Stephanie is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore receiving her doctorate in physical therapy. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings to include hospital acute care, acute and subacute rehab, long term care, home health and outpatient. This has provided Stephanie the opportunity to diversify her skill set and treat a variety of diagnoses as a therapist. Stephanie is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist. Her primary focus of practice is manual therapy, orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, and gait/balance dysfunction. She also has experience in treating patients with vestibular dysfunction. Stephanie is very dedicated to her patients and is passionate about providing personalized treatment programs to help each individual reach their goals.
William Mozingo, PTA
Will graduated with an Associates in Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Delaware Technical and Community College. Wil specializes in soft tissue massage and manual therapy. He is a veteran of the 82nd airborne and resides in Bridgeville , DE with his wife and (3) children.
