What do I do for “fill-in-the-blank” pain?
According to many studies the answer is exercise. Exercise helps with everything from our mental state, cardiovascular system, reduces injuries, and decreases pain as well as much much more.
Our hunter gatherer ancestors ran up to 6 miles a day on an African Savannah to hunt food. Their bones were dense, their muscles were strong, and they were healthier than early agricultural societies.
I am not glamorizing the hunter gatherer lifestyle, only pointing out the vast majority of our evolutionary history was spent performing very physically demanding tasks on a regular basis. We should do our best to replicate this in our daily lives for optimal health and pain reduction.
