Identifying SI Dysfunction

The SI joint is often overlooked as a source of back pain. It can become problematic if the SI becomes disrupted or injured. How do you know if this is the cause of your pain? Symptoms can include low back pain, pain in the buttock, hip, and pelvis, a feeling of leg instability, or pain when going from a sitting to standing position. You have many options for treatment. One of which is physical therapy. Exercises can improve your strength and flexibility and you’ll learn to correct any habits you may have picked up when in pain. If you think you might have SI dysfunction, our skilled therapists at Atlantic Physical Therapy can help get you back on your feet!
